Cookies Explained
Cookies are used to store individual information about yourself on your computer.  On this site as you make a product selection the information unique to you is stored in a small file on your PC called a cookie.  If you regularly browse the Internet you probably already have a fair number of cookie files stored on your PC.  See the notes below on how to find them.  Cookies are very useful tools and on this site quite harmless.  It is possible, but extremely unlikely, for a malicious web developer to transmit a virus to your PC using a cookie.  This site is free of all such viruses.

Java Applets Explained
Java Appplets are very small programs that usually run on your PC while browsing an Internet site.  There are currently no Java Applets on this site although they are quite common on other web site. It is possible, but extremely unlikely, for a malicious web developer to transmit a virus to your PC using a Java Applet.  This site is free of all such viruses.

Anti-Virus Software
You can safely access this site without any Anti-Virus software on your PC.  You are advised to have an upto date  Anti-Virus program loaded on your PC at all times.  Browsing the Internet is generally virus free and risk free at the moment.  Long may it stay this way.  Internet Email is already a very common way to transmit viruses.  Downloading 'free' programs is another.  Without an up-to-date Anti-virus software package loaded onto your PC you are taking an unnecessary risk.  Get some software and follow the manufacturers instructions to keep it up to date and browse the web safely.

How do I tell what browser version I am using?
This is the most common procedure to follow.

  1. From the menu bar above select 'Help'.
  2. Then select 'About ...'.
  3. A Window should have appeared describing your browser version.

Should it not work on your PC then you should seek advice from your browser supplier to check the version.

How do find the cookies on my Windows PC?
This is the most common procedure to follow.

  1. Open Windows Explorer.
  2. Select 'C:'
  3. Select the 'Windows' directory' on the left.
  4. Select the 'Cookies' directory.
  5. In the right hand windows should be a list of all the cookies you have accepted.

In is generally best to leave the files as they are. Do not edit or delete them without good technical support to back you up. Should it not work on your PC then you should seek advice from your PC supplier.
Internet Explorer 5.0 - Turning on cookies
Cookies are usually already turned on when you install IE5.

  1. From the menu bar above select 'Tools'.
  2. Then select 'Internet Options'.
  3. Select the 'Security' tab.
  4. Click 'Internet'. It is below a small picture of the world.
  5. Click the 'Custom Level' button.
  6. Move the scroll bar to the right down until 'cookies' appear on the left.
  7. Click 'Enable' against 'Allow cookies that are stored on your computer'.
  8. Click 'Enable' against 'Allow per-session cookies (not stored)'.
  9. Click 'Ok', then 'Appy' then 'OK' and you should be back into your brower.

Internet Explorer 4.0 - To follow
Internet Explorer 3.0 - Turning on cookies
Cookies are usually already turned on when you install IE3. There is an option to be warned about them.  The default is to have no warning.  If you select warning on always accept cookies from this site. 

  1. From the menu bar above select 'View'.
  2. Then select 'Options'.
  3. Select the 'Advanced' tab.
  4. Uncheck 'Warn before accepting cookies' to always accept cookies.
  5. Check 'Warn before accepting cookies' to get an option not to accept cookies.
